Breathe essential oil blend: handmade apothecary

Breathe essential oil blend: handmade apothecary

The Breathe essential oil blend by DoTerra is great for…breathing 😊 any sort of respiratory issues, this is your oil! It’s probably my third most used oil because I diffuse it every night in my kid’s room and my room because I noticed I am more stuffy in the morning after I haven’t been moving around a lot.

If you’ve seen my Handmade Apothecary series then you know that people wonder about the cost of DoTerra essential oils; are you really getting your money’s worth? This series will cover the ten most popular oils that come in a kit and will show you how much you can actually do with your 15 mL bottle of essential oil (I’m basing my evaluation on the Home Essentials kit which comes with 10 essential oils in 15 mL bottles, excluding Deep Blue which only comes in a 5 mL bottle. Each 15 mL bottle has approximately 250 drops and a 5 mL has about 85 drops). Be sure to read the disclaimer if you haven’t already!

Some of these DIY will require additional essential oils included in the kit. So when you buy a kit, you can make all of these things without needing to buy more oils. Recipes that include oils that are not included in the kit will be marked with a * and have a variation to suit the oils in your kit.

DIY chest rub salve: I’m not a Vick’s person, and if you are that’s totally okay, but I challenge you to try this DIY instead! You can follow this tutorial, but basically, you’ll need 15 drops of Breathe essential oil blend and oregano that comes in your kit.

Linen spray: You’ll need a 4 oz fine mist spray bottle, witch hazel, and 10 drops of Breathe essential oil blend. Fill your bottle with witch hazel (leave about an inch and a half at the top) and add your 10 drops. Shake before use and spray on bed before bedtime/naptime and on your couch or pillows.

Salt bath blend: When you’re feeling gross and having difficulty breathing then the Breathe bath blend is for you! You can follow the bath blend tutorial here if you need to, but basically, 1 cup of dead sea salt (optional to add a cup of baking soda), and 10 drops of the Breathe essential oil blend. PS. don’t get this in your eyes 😊

Shower discs: I love a good bath, but they don’t happen all the time—showers, however, are far more common. You can make shower discs like these, or just use a drop of the Breathe blend on the floor of your shower. I personally just like to add a drop to my shower.

DIY Breathe blend roller: This is for easier application in the months where you need extra support (think changing seasons or when everyone is getting sick). Simply add 40 drops to a 10 mL roller then fill it almost to the top with a carrier oil. Follow the tutorial here if you need some tips!

Breathe essential oil blend breakdown

Things you can make with a bottle of Breathe essential oil blend from DoTerra and you'll still have enough to diffuse every day for nearly two months!

A bottle of Breathe essential oil blend costs $20 (wholesale). There are approximately 250 drops in a 15 mL bottle. IF you made everything in this post, you just used 75 drops of Breathe essential oil blend, which means you still have 175 drops left. Guys, that’s more than half a bottle. You just handmade all of these beautiful things for your home and apothecary and you STILL HAVE OIL LEFT. Like I said at the beginning of the post (it seems so long ago 😉) I diffuse this nightly. I usually add 6 drops to my diffuser at night, but you can add less (3-4). So you’d have enough to diffuse for nearly two months if you used 3-4 drops even after making this stuff.

And guess what? You don’t even have to make all of these things—just make the ones you want or need! Which one is on your list?
