DIY Oil Cleanser + Video

Confession: I haven’t used a commercial face cleanser in over two years. I just use oil to clean my face. Yes, oil. I always had oily skin growing up, so I thought that meant that I had to dry my skin out to make it clean and clear like I wanted. This obviously didn’t work and often made my skin worse. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized that maybe my skin was producing so much oil because it needed more oil. So I started putting more oil on my face and guess what–my skin has never been more even in my life. Even with all of the oil I put on my face to moisturize and clean it, my face is NOT oily. I recently did a Facebook event on Beauty with Essential oils and showed everyone how I clean my face with oil. The replay is here:

If you haven’t tried oil cleansing do it now!! It is SO easy to make and you will not  believe how much dirt comes off of your face:

You guys, that was a brand new towel–and that was all of the dirt on my face.

I like to keep my recipe simple and sweet, but you can add any of these essential oils that are good for your skin. I add 50 drops of lavender essential oil to a 4 oz bottle, then fill the bottle with sweet almond oil. BTW this is how you can get 25% off essential oils.  I use this to clean my face and as a natural makeup remover. I cleanse my face one of two ways: like the video above after I’ve done something gross outside (like gardening/sweating/mowing the lawn/cleaning the chicken coop), or by putting it on my face before jumping in the shower.

Try it and let me know what you think!

and if you haven’t joined my essential oils group on Facebook join me!
